Blast from the past - Fernando Rech

Following Adelaide's impressive win over Melbourne Victory last night we thought we would celebrate today's blast from the past with a former player, Brazilian striker Fernando Rech. Back in the NSL days Fernando was considered one of the competitions best players and this was confirmed when he took out the Johnny Warren Medal in 2001. After a stop start career in both Brazil and Japan, Fernando moved to Australia with Brisbane Strikers in 2000 which is where he most flourished scoring a career best 10 goals in a season. When the NSL flopped Fernando was quickly snapped up by Adelaide United to lead their attack with Carl Veart. It was at Adelaide where Fernando called a time on his career, in 35 appearances for the club he scored 13 goals.

Obrigado Fernando!.
