Our Sunday afternoon match see's the Melbourne Victory bounce back from a losing streak by absolutely smashing the Newcastle Jets at Aami Park. Its not hard to work out that defence has been the issue for the A - League giants in the past few weeks, but today their defence was outstanding. The attack of Victory's will do its job as long as Melbourne keep their defence solid they will challenge for the tittle.
Below are our 3,2,1 Man of the Match awards for tonight's match.
3. Marco Rojas
Kiwi Messi was back to his best today, Archie Thompson returning from injury clearly brings out the best in young Marco and tonight he takes out our man of the match.
2. Adrian Leijer
Big Aido had his best game in the Victory shirt since that clash with the Mariners in Tasmania. He was strong and imposing on the Jets attack. Also combined the best with Daniel Mullen since his arrival from China.
1. Nathan Coe
Maybe seen as a strange choice as he wasn't overly busy this afternoon, but after last week he showed plenty of character to bounce back and hold onto a clean sheet.
